Over the years, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Hung Yen province has not only contributed to fostering the traditional friendship between the two countries but also served as an important support system for its members in economic development. The Association has implemented many practical activities to connect markets and support the consumption of products for its business members. With a spirit of solidarity, innovation, and community focus, the Association is actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Export products of Phuong Thanh Production, Import and Export Co., Ltd.

After many years living and working in Russia, in April 2001, Mr. Pham Xuan Pha, from Thai Binh ward, returned to his hometown and decided to start his own business. He established Phuong Thanh Production, Import and Export Company Limited, creating jobs for thousands of local workers. Each year, the company achieves total revenue exceeding 1 million USD, becoming one of the reputable manufacturers and exporters of ornamental flower pots in the market.

Sharing his startup idea, Mr. Pha said: Understanding consumer demand and development trends in capitalist countries, many products in Vietnam, if properly invested in, could be exported. However, choosing to produce ornamental flower pots at that time was a very new direction because the number of businesses pursuing this industry was still small. Pioneering is always difficult, but the path is wide open and offers long-term growth potential. Over more than 24 years of development, the company has continuously innovated its plant pot manufacturing materials, from reinforced concrete, composite, granito polished stone, lightweight cement, and rubber to wood-based products, ensuring safety for human health and environmental friendliness. Currently, Phuong Thanh Production and Import-Export Co., Ltd. is focusing on investing in expanding its production line to include items such as shelves, cabinets, tables, and chairs, in order to increase productivity, create jobs for local workers, and contribute to the economic development of the province.

Unlike Mr. Pham Xuan Pha, after returning from Russia, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, from Tran Hung Dao ward, continued working in a state agency. In 2014, upon retirement, he decided to invest in opening three water treatment plants, providing stable clean water to over 8,000 households in Tan Thuan, Van Xuan, and Vu Tien communes. With a desire to make a practical contribution to the community, he used all his accumulated capital and borrowed from the bank to equip the plants with machinery, pipelines, and water treatment technology that meets the standards of the Ministry of Health.

Mr. Dung shared: "The deployment of clean water plants in rural areas at that time faced many difficulties due to limited infrastructure, scattered population needs, and complex legal procedures. However, with the determination to bring quality water to every household, I persevered in surveying and selecting suitable construction sites and directly supervising each stage of construction. After becoming operational, the three plants have proven effective, providing a stable and safe water supply, contributing to improving the living standards and health of the community."

Not stopping there, in 2022, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung's family took over and managed Hoa Thuy Tien Private Kindergarten in Tran Lam Ward, expanding their contributions to local education and life, demonstrating a persistent sense of social responsibility and commitment to their homeland.

Currently, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of the province has 364 members operating in 14 branches. Mr. Vu Van Chien, Chairman of the Association, said: Every year, the Association cooperates with the Central Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association to receive information and documents to learn, research, and update on Russian culture, socio-economic situation and foreign relations, cooperation policies of the Russian Federation, especially Russia-Vietnam relations and relations between Russia and countries closely related to Vietnam, as a basis for disseminating information and encouraging members to participate. At the same time, the association introduces, connects, and assists its members, who are entrepreneurs, in exporting hundreds of containers of handicrafts and fine art products annually to countries in the Americas and Europe, including the Russian Federation, generating hundreds of millions of USD in revenue.

In addition, they actively participate in charitable and humanitarian activities, giving Tet gifts to households of martyrs' relatives and families, victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, poor and near-poor households initiated by the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, with a total amount exceeding 500 million VND each year. Thanks to the connections facilitated by the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of the province, many products of Thang Lien General Production and Trading Company Limited have been introduced and exhibited in Russia. This activity not only helps promote the brand and expand export markets but also boosts production and business efficiency, creates opportunities for international cooperation, and contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of the enterprise.

Along with the efforts of its members – entrepreneurs – the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of the province demonstrates its important role in supporting its members' economic development. Thanks to the support, connections, and proper guidance, businesses have not only improved their production capacity and expanded their markets but also actively contributed to the socio-economic development of the locality, affirming the practical value of cooperation and friendship.
