As the center of the former Kien Xuong District, Kien Xuong Commune has advantages for developing industry, trade and services. The locality has planned five industrial clusters, four of which have infrastructure investors and have attracted eight secondary investors. Among the industrial clusters in the commune, Binh Minh Industrial Cluster is gradually being built into a model industrial cluster, while the investor of Trung Ne Industrial Cluster is speeding up infrastructure construction to attract businesses into production soon. Dang Tat Thanh, Head of the Project Management Board of Dong Do Group Joint Stock Company, said that the Trung Ne Industrial Cluster project is being implemented in two phases. The company is focusing on building phase-1 technical infrastructure on an area of about 25 ha, while also constructing a wastewater treatment plant to facilitate the attraction of secondary investors. To date, the industrial cluster has attracted two FDI investors specializing in sports shoe manufacturing, occupying about 15 ha, with total investment capital of hundreds of billions of VND. In the long term, the industrial cluster is expected to attract 8–10 enterprises and create jobs for about 10,000 workers.

According to the locality's orientation, once the five industrial clusters have completed their infrastructure and come into operation, Kien Xuong could attract about 40 secondary investors and create jobs for more than 30,000 workers. This will be an important driving force for shifting the economic structure toward industry and services, while increasing budget revenue and improving people's living standards. Along with attracting investment, Kien Xuong Commune pays attention to accompanying businesses and removing their difficulties regarding premises, land, capital, equipment and technology, and coordinates with banks and credit funds to help businesses access capital and expand production and business. As a result, industrial production, small-scale industry and handicrafts, and traditional trades have continued to develop. The commune now has nearly 150 enterprises and more than 1,400 production and business establishments, providing stable jobs for about 10,000 workers with an average income of about VND 7–8 million per person per month. The production and trading of fine-art wooden furniture is a typical example. With nearly 30 production households concentrated in Tra Huong Village, this traditional trade provides jobs for nearly 200 workers. Vu Thi Van, owner of the Tuan Van wooden furniture store in Tra Huong Village, said that her family has been engaged in the trade for about 30 years, specializing in products such as beds, wardrobes, tables and chairs, and worship items. With support from the local authorities, the family has invested in machinery and expanded production with two workshops covering more than 600 m2 and a product showroom. The establishment currently provides regular jobs for 20 workers, with an average income of VND 7–10 million per person per month.

In addition, Kien Xuong is gradually expanding its space for trade and services to meet residents' needs and accelerate urbanization. One of the projects helping to give the locality a new look is the commercial housing area east of Provincial Road 457, named Parama Central Park, invested by SMC Investment Co., Ltd. The project covers nearly 5 ha and has been under implementation since August 2025. Pham Huu Chuan, Director of SMC Investment Co., Ltd., said that the project has so far completed its technical infrastructure, obtained land use right certificates for each plot and has been eligible for real estate business since April 2026. Upon completion, it will have 175 units, including shophouses, villas and townhouses, along with amenities such as a pedestrian street, flower gardens, a children's playground, a wellness garden and an outdoor reading garden.

Changes in the development of industry, construction, trade and services have brought about a clear shift in Kien Xuong's economic structure. Currently, non-agricultural workers account for nearly 72% of the workforce. The production value of industry and construction increased from nearly VND 1,500 billion in 2023 to nearly VND 2,000 billion in 2025, while that of trade and services rose from over VND 810 billion to nearly VND 935 billion over the same period.

By focusing on economic sectors with advantages, together with the support of the authorities and businesses, the locality is gradually creating new growth drivers, improving people's lives and shaping a new appearance on its journey to becoming a ward. Kien Xuong aims to achieve an average annual growth rate of total product value of 10.5% by 2030, and to increase per capita income by 45% compared with 2025.
