August 2026 Meeting of the Standing Board of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Waste and Negative Practices
On the morning of August 25, the Standing Board of the Provincial Steering Committee for Preventing and Combating Corruption, Waste and Negative Practices (the Provincial Steering Committee) held its regular meeting for August 2026. Pham Quang Ngoc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee, chaired the meeting. At the meeting, the Standing Board of the Provincial Steering Committee discussed and assessed the situation and results of work in August. The discussion focused on the results of disseminating, communicating and implementing the Resolution of the Second Plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee on continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership over the prevention and combat of corruption, waste and negative practices in the new period; the merger of public educational service units; the review and handling of behind-schedule and long-stalled works and projects in the province; and the direction of the handling of cases monitored and directed by the Provincial Steering Committee.

Concluding the meeting, Pham Quang Ngoc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee, highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of all levels, sectors, agencies, units and localities in thoroughly grasping and promptly and effectively implementing the policies, plans and directions of the Central Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee, thereby helping to maintain political security, social order and safety and to promote socio-economic development.
Regarding key tasks requiring focused direction in the coming time, the Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee requested all levels, sectors, localities and units to further uphold their sense of responsibility and complete tasks on schedule and with quality, especially the consolidation of Party organizations and the arrangement of the leadership and management apparatus, officials, teachers and staff of public educational institutions in the province, maintaining stability and improving the quality of teaching, learning and work. They must continue to focus on reviewing and classifying each behind-schedule project and work, with a specific handling plan and a clear completion timeline for each; and ensure that handling plans are completed in 2026 for 100% of works and projects that are behind schedule, long-stalled, facing difficulties and obstacles, or at risk of causing loss and waste, as well as those already subject to court judgments or inspection, examination or audit conclusions. They must also step up monitoring of the situation, and detect and strictly handle cases of posting inaccurate information in cyberspace, as well as officials, civil servants and public employees who abuse their assigned duties and responsibilities to violate the law.
