By the end of the first quarter of 2019, the district's socio-economic development has achieved many results:  the state budget revenue in the district reached over VND 540 billion, achieved nearly 30% of the year plan and increased over nearly 9% compared with the same period in 2018. 

At the present time, the district has fulfilled the criteria for new rural construction, it has made a dossier to request all levels to verify and recognize Van Lam district to meet the new rural standards in 2019; submitted the appraisal and approval of the detailed plan of 1/500 of communes and townships:  Nhu Quynh, Tan Quang, Dinh Du, Trung Trac and the proposal of scheme to recognize the district center area meeting urban standards type IV ...

The district also is interested in education - training, health - population / family planning; culture - information, sports.  In the first quarter of 2019, all levels and sectors in the district visited and donated over 12,000 gifts to people with meritorious services, social policy beneficiaries, victims of Agent Orange, families with difficult circumstances with a total cost of nearly VND 3.4 billion.

It is to focus in administrative reform.  The district has completed the merger of preschools and primary schools in localities where there are many schools in one level ...

The district party committees has been strengthened the inspection and supervision.  Right from the beginning of the year, the Inspection Party Committee from the district to the grassroots level has actively advised the District Party Committee to build the annual inspection and supervision program according to the Party Charter and at the same time well perform the tasks assigned.  Disciplinary action is taken seriously; promptly resolve complaints and denunciations and strictly implement the citizen reception regime ...

In the coming time, the district focuses on improving the roles and responsibilities of the heads of departments, branches, People's Committees of communes and townlets; continue to implement well the provincial Plan 93a. It also synchronously deploy measures to prevent and control African swine fever, bird flu; invest in upgrading some work items to improve new rural criteria; continue to promote administrative reforms, raise the sense of responsibility of the contingent of cadres and civil servants when performing their duties ...
