Currently, the whole Van Lam district has one concentrated industrial park - Pho Noi A Industrial Park and ten industrial clusters, which have attracted 630 operating businesses, over 2,100 individual production and business households, creating regular jobs for more than 55,000 employees....
In addition to the positive contribution of the private sector, over the years, Van Lam district has attracted many foreign-invested projects with modern production technology, strictly complied with current policies and laws, paid full attention to the legitimate rights and interests of employees..., for example: Vietnam Auto Parts Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Hyundai Aluminum Vina Joint Stock Company, Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd., Everpia Joint Stock Company...
The production at Everpia Joint Stock Company, located in Tan Quang commune
Along with industrial development, the district creates favorable conditions for the development of handicrafts. There are 8 craft villages in the district, in which, many famous craft villages such as: Long Thuong bronze casting village, Dai Dong commune, Nghia Trai medicinal plants processing village, Tan Quang commune. In recent years, craft villages in Van Lam have boldly expanded their scale, created highly competitive products to meet the consumer demand of the market; making an important contribution to the economic restructuring, increasing the proportion of Industry - Handicrafts, creating jobs and increasing incomes for workers. Dai Dong commune is one of the top localities in the district in term of handicrafts development. Comrade Nguyen Van Thao, Vice Chairman of Dai Dong Commune People's Committee said: Over the years, the Commune Party Committee and authorities have always paid attention to and created favorable conditions for people to develop copper casting and non-ferrous metal recycling through activities to support people in making procedures for borrowing capital to invest in production and product promotion. Up to now, the commune has nearly 300 households doing copper casting (mainly in Long Thuong village) and many households working in non-ferrous metal recycling, attracting thousands of workers with the incomes from 8 to 12 million VND/ person/month. The production value of handicrafts in 2021 has reached over VND 253.3 billion, accounting for 40% of the local economic structure. In the context of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, production facilities in craft villages have actively maintained product quality, provided products at reasonable prices; at the same time promoting brand advertisement on the internet, thereby helping to make product consumption more convenient. In particular, the products of the craft village continue to penetrate deeply into the markets of the Southern provinces.
In 2021, despite affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, businesses and production facilities in the district still maintain stability and development. In 2021, the industrial - handicraft production value of the whole district is estimated to reach at over 106,740 billion VND, seeing an increase of 12.79% as compared to 2020. The development of industry - handicraft has contributed to promoting the development of trade and services activities, which basically meets the needs of goods exchange, production and consumption of the people. The industry - handicraft and trade - services account for 96.43% of the economic structure of the district in 2021, contributing to raising per capita income to 75.52 million VND.
However, the industrial - handicrafts production in the district still has some shortcomings such as: The attraction of investment in the area is still not commensurate with the potentials and advantages; investment projects have not really diversified in industries, the project scale is still small; a number of projects have been approved but the performance is slow and many businesses are not really efficient; infrastructure in craft villages is still limited; production also pollutes the environment in some localities... In the coming time, the district will focus on carrying out many solutions to develop Industry - handicrafts, such as: To focus on the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic; enhance the investment promotion activities, give priority to investors doing business in infrastructure of industrial clusters and enterprises using modern and environmentally friendly production technologies. To step up the development of handicrafts and trade villages in association with the construction of new rural areas; encourage enterprises and production establishments in craft villages to operate in concentrated industrial zones and clusters. To create favorable conditions for investors, especially those doing business in technical infrastructure of industrial clusters in terms of investment procedures and site clearance. At the same time, paying attention to human resource development, support training to improve skills for employees...
