Van Lam is a district located in the north of the province, adjacent to Hanoi city, Bac Ninh province and Hai Duong province, with National Highway 5 running through the area. In particular, located along National Highway 5, with convenient transportation, Nhu Quynh Market (Nhu Quynh town) was put into operation in 2018 with a construction design of  Grade I market standards, meeting the needs of trading and contributing to  economic development of the district. The market currently has more than 100 tradinghouseholds with a variety of products, attracting a large number of customers to visit and shop.

In 2020, revenue from trade and service activities in the district accounts for 14.12% of the local economic value.
