Checking the quality of agricultural products in cold storage at Van Giang fresh vegetables and fruits production cooperative, Lien Nghia commune (Van Giang)

Van Giang fresh vegetables and fruits cooperative, Lien Nghia commune (Van Giang) was established in 2017 with 24 members. Thanks to the application of production methods according to VietGAP process and ensuring products quality, the cooperative has affirmed its position in the market and linked with collective kitchens to consume agricultural products. Ms. Ly Thi Ha, director of Van Giang fresh vegetables and fruits cooperative said: When it was first established, the cooperative faced many difficulties, especially in terms of capital and land to expand production. Thanks to the attention and orientation of the local government, the cooperative has access to preferential loans and participates in training courses on applying science and technology to production. In particular, in 2021, the cooperative has been supported with cold storage to preserve agricultural products to help improve product value. Currently, the products of the cooperative are highly appreciated by consumers. In addition to consuming agricultural products for members, the cooperative also supports people in consumption of agricultural products with over 60 tons of guava, over 20 tons of vegetables and tubers/month. In addition to providing stable income for its members, the cooperative creates regular jobs for 15 laborers in the commune.

Thanks to the innovation of operation method, Xuan Quan Flowers and Ornamental Plants Cooperative, Xuan Quan Commune has taken the lead in transforming the plant structure, creating a central area linking flower growers in the commune, specializing in providing fresh flowers, carpet flowers, constructional plants for the Northern regions. The cooperative contributes to the construction and formation of a flower and ornamental plant village in Xuan Quan commune and an area specializing in growing and trading flowers and ornamental plants in the district. The cooperative's revenue is from 15-20 billion VND/year, the average income of its members is 96 million VND/person/year.

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of development solutions, the collective economic area in Van Giang district has positively changed in quantity and quality. Up to now, the whole district has 21 cooperatives and 15 cooperative groups. On average, there are 23 members/cooperative, seeing an increase of 5.1% as compared to 2001; the annual revenue of the cooperative reached an average of 2.1 billion VND/cooperative, seeing an increase of 1.6 billion VND/cooperative as compared to 2001; the average income of cooperative members gained 66 million VND/person/year, more than 10 times higher than that as compared to 2001.
