Making land to grow vegetables

In rice production, up to now, the stages of sowing and harvesting are increasingly mechanized. The province has 100 transplanters of all kinds. In 2022, the province's area planted by machines has reached 1,780 hectares; by the spring crop of this year, the province has more than 2,500 hectares planted by machines. The application of tray plating, rice transplanting by machine is a step forward in transferring technical advances into production, actively contributing to the implementation of the policy of bringing mechanization into agricultural production. According to the assessment of the agricultural industry, rice transplanted by machine has a uniform density of rice plants, open rice field, less pests and diseases, so the use of pesticides is reduced, contributing to environmental protection; rice yield has increased by 10-15% compared to manual transplanting. In addition, the use of transplanters also helps localities to plan production areas to plant the same variety, which is convenient for caring, harvesting, and gradually forming concentrated commodity rice production area, contributing to changing the practice of small-scale rice production.

For rice harvesting, the province currently has 627 rice harvesters of all kinds, the rate of mechanization in rice harvesting reaches 96.5%. The common use of combine harvesters helps to ensure the rice harvest season, contributing to increasing productivity and quality and significantly reducing losses. Along with that, the stage of transporting agricultural products has been strongly developed, means of transport in rural areas have been constantly increasing and actively contributed to the reduction of heavy labor for agricultural workers, well solving the transportation of agricultural products during the season.

According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, implementing the province's policy on promoting the application of mechanization in agricultural production, so far, it has achieved high efficiency in all three areas including: Cultivation, livestock, aquaculture. In the field of cultivation, the land preparation stage is basically mechanized, reaching a rate of over 93.5%, of which the rate of mechanization of rice is about 99.8%; vegetables and beans reached 91.3%... Mechanization in rice cultivation has reached 19.3%, vegetable cultivation at 4.6%; the stage of irrigation and drainage attained 90.5%; Harvesting stage mainly applies mechanization in rice harvesting, reaching the rate of 96.5%. In pig production, the rate of mechanization in the feeding stage is 55.3%, the drinking water stage is 73.8%; poultry raising, the rate of mechanization in feeding and drinking water reached 64%; treatment of pig and chicken waste by biogas cellar reached 84.7%, bio-buffer reached 55.7%. The fisheries sector mainly applies mechanization with oxygen generators reaching 45%, grinding and mixing equipment at 37%.

Implementing the project on promoting agricultural mechanization development in Hung Yen province in the period of 2021 - 2025, in the years 2021 and 2022, the Provincial Agriculture and Rural Development sector guides and supports farmer households to access loans from different credit institutions to purchase mechanized machinery and equipment such as machines for tillaging, planting, caring and harvesting rice and maize; tractors, diesel engines used in agricultural production; fishing, aquaculture... In 2021, there were 41 borrowers with a total capital of over 8 billion VND, the support interest rate is 589 million VND. The Sub-Department of Rural Development has coordinated with relevant units to support 29 households to buy machines for agricultural mechanization, of which 10 households purchased combine harvesters, 12 households purchased land-cultivation machines, and 5 households bought transplanters, 2 households bought organic fertilizer filters. In 2022, the whole province has 13 units and individuals that are allowed to borrow more than 4 billion VND, the supported interest is 206 million VND. Simultaneously, to coordinate with related units to support 33 households to buy machines for agricultural mechanization, of which 25 households bought combine harvesters, 6 households bought land-cultivation machines, 1 household bought a transplanter, 1 household bought a straw rolling machine.

In order to continue to promote the application of mechanization in agricultural production, at the same time, effectively implementing the Project to promote the development of agricultural mechanization in Hung Yen province in the period of 2021 - 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development directs specialized units to coordinate with localities, units and farmers to compile dossiers of machinery procurement to submit to competent authorities for approval; coordinate with credit institutions in guiding preferential loans to purchase machines and equipment... in order to speed up the rate of mechanization in agricultural production.
