The workshop drew the attendance of comrades: Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Tourism Development; Mr. Doan Van Hoa, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee gave an overview of the potentials and advantages for developing Hung Yen tourism and suggested delegates to focus on clarifying a number of such key issues as: Assessing the potentials, advantages and difficulties in Hung Yen tourism development, thereby proposing the solutions to remove the problems on policy and infrastructure; exchanging experiences in tour exploitation; proposing the development of tourism products, programs, plans, policies and the synchronous action coordination among sectors and localities in the management, exploitation and development of Hung Yen tourism products.

At the workshop, the majority of delegates assessed that Hung Yen has the potentials and advantages for tourism development; Pho Hien has been identified as one of the eight national tourism destinations in the Master Plan for Tourism Development of the Red River Delta and Northeast Coast to 2020, with a vision to 2030. However, the tourism potentials and strengths of the province have not been exploited properly and effectively, the contribution of tourism industry to the province's economy is still low; the infrastructure and technical facilities for tourism are limited; tourism products are not abundant, products’ quality is low; human resources in tourism are inadequate and weak; tourism advertisement and promotion are still limited. The delegates have proposed many specific solutions to awaken the potentials of Hung Yen tourism such as: Building tourism products, creating products as souvenirs, the products of trade villages branded with Hung Yen; building rural agriculture models; promoting tourism in the industrial age 4.0; it is necessary to promote the role of people and local authorities in community tourism development...

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, expressed his pleasure to welcome delegates researching tourism and tourism businessmen nationwide to Hung Yen province to do survey, research and exchange tourism development experiences. In the coming time, Hung Yen province will promulgate priority mechanisms and policies, encourage and invite businesses to invest in the field of tourism in the province; at the same time, strengthen tourism advertisement and promotion to awaken the potentials and advantages of Hung Yen tourism development.

Earlier, on November 7, the participants conducted the survey at a number of traditional trade villages and relics in Van Lam district.

On this occasion, the organizers of the Hung Yen tourism symbol and slogan-writing contest summed up and awarded for 4 works of tourism symbol (1 First prize and 3 Consolation prizes) and 3 Hung Yen tourism slogans (3 Consolation prizes), in which author Nguyen Quang Xuan Vinh won the First prize of the tourism symbol.
