Speaking at the opening of the conference, General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed: The election of deputies to the 15^th National Assembly and the People's Councils at all levels for the term of 2021 - 2026 takes place at a significant time, when the whole country is trying to emulate to gain achievements to celebrate the success of the 13^th National Party Congress. This is also a great political event of the country in order to select and elect worthy delegates representing the will, aspiration and ownership of the people. Fully aware of the importance and great significance of this election, the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have identified it as one of important and central political tasks of the entire Party, people and army in 2021. The Politburo has issued the Directive No. 45-CT / TW dated June 20, 2020 on leading the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the People's Councils at all levels for the term of 2021 - 2026, which requires the whole political system to unite and strengthen coordination, focus on preparing necessary conditions to successfully organize the election, ensure the election to be conducted democratically, equally, in accordance with the law, safely and economically.
