The Opera project "Princess Anio" is implemented with the aim of promoting the exchange and friendship relationship between Vietnam and Japan, developing the musical culture of the two countries, and exchanges in the cultural field between Vietnam with Japanese organizations, individuals and localities. The opera "Princess Anio" takes its motif from a true story in history: The relationship between Araki Sotaro - an Indian ship merchant in the early 17th century and Princess Ngoc Hoa (Princess Ngoc Hoa) - her daughter. adopted daughter of Lord Sai Nguyen Phuc Nguyen. On the trade ship from Nagasaki to Cochinchina (now Central Vietnam), Araki Sotaro met and fell in love with Princess Ngoc Hoa. Receiving the consent and trust of Lord Nguyen, Araki Sotaro welcomed Princess Ngoc Hoa to Nagasaki. Here, Princess Ngoc Hoa was loved by the people of Nagasaki with the name "Anio San" and spent the rest of her life living in Nagasaki.

Performance at the program
Today, the palanquin procession welcoming Princess Anio continues to be recreated in the "Chau An boat" scene held every 7 years at the "Nagasaki Kunchi" festival in Nagasaki province (Japan). By recreating a true historical story through the opera, the organizers hope the work will become a symbol of promoting good relations between Vietnam and Japan in the future.
