After an accident, Mr. Vu Van Dung in Hien Nam Ward (Hung Yen City) was incapable of working and had to sit in a wheelchair to move. At the payment point at the Cultural House of Hien Nam ward amid the peak period of receiving grants, when recognizing that Mr. Dung could not enter the money delivery place, the ward officials brought papers and VND 1.5 million to the hall to help him with procedures and gave grants to him. Forgetting the fatigue of traveling a long distance in a wheelchair under the hot weather, Mr. Dung said: “I would like to thank the Party, the State and local authorities for their timely support and encouragement policies for people just like me”. The grant of VND 1.5 million will help my family to make ends meet”.
At the assistance point of Nhac Loc village, Trung Trac commune (Van Lam district), Ms. Tran Thi Khang, the poor household in Nhac Loc village said: “Since the outbreak of Covid - 19, I have been paid timely attention by the government and unions at all levels with gifts such as: Rice, necessities, money ... Today, when receiving the grant, I cannot say anything but thank the Party and the State. In the fight against Covid - 19 pandemic and against poverty, those in special circumstances like us are not left behind”
In the process of handing over money from the social security package of the Government, 110 thousand people in the province in 3 groups of subjects are assisted the total amount of over VND 131.5 billion; including over 20.7 thousand people with meritorious services; over 42.3 thousand poor and near-poor people and households and nearly 46 thousand social protection beneficiaries. Van Lam district and Hung Yen city are the two localities to provide support to the very first beneficiaries. On the first day of grant delivery, the people were excited and trust in the Government's epidemic prevention and control measures and timely economic support to the people in difficult times.
At the assistance point of Lien Phuong Commune (Hung Yen City), Mr. Vu Van Thuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Yen City, said: “To ensure timely and accurate support, the People's Committee of the city has established a steering committee from city level to ward and commune level. At the assistance points, the list is publicized for people to supervise and help the government to avoid errors and giving the wrong subjects. The People's Committee of the city also asked the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city to intensify supervision to support the right people, prevent policy profiteering, and ensure the rights of the people.
Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has actively guided localities to organize reasonable locations, arranging appropriate staff and implementing a close support process. At the same time, this Department assigned officials and experts to coordinate with People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to inspect and supervise the assistance in localities. All assistance points are publicized for people to follow. In the process of distributing the grants, the humane policies of the Party and the State was multiplied when there was one person voluntarily handing over the entire amount to the Steering Committee for the prevention and control of Covid- 19 disease. Mr. Tran Viet Hung, a wounded soldier in Hien Nam ward (Hung Yen city) immediately gave back the grant to Steering Committee of Covid-19 prevention and control right after receiving an amount of VND 1.5 million. Mr. Hung shared: “I am very happy to receive the attention and support of the Party and the State. Through the mass media, I has found that the front lines are working very hard. When I came to the assistance point, I found many people were more difficult than me, so I returned the money to join hands with the government to prevent and fight against epidemics as well as support those in more difficult circumstances”
