The whole province currently has about 1.8 thousand hectares of orange trees, concentrated in Hung Yen city and districts: Phu Cu, Kim Dong, Khoai Chau, Van Giang. According to the assessment of the authorities, Hung Yen oranges are mainly consumed as fresh fruit at wholesale markets and retail establishments inside and outside the province; A few are consumed at large supermarket systems in some neighboring provinces and cities. Currently, gardeners, cooperative groups, cooperatives, and businesses in orange growing areas of the province are in the orange harvesting and consumption season. This year, the province's orange output is estimated to reach 31 thousand tons of fruit. Actual surveys in localities show that this year, Hung Yen oranges are sold well and sold at higher prices than last year.

Mr. Tran Van Binh, Director of Ngu Phuc Agricultural Cooperative, Tam Da Commune (Phu Cu) said: These days, members of the cooperative are focusing on harvesting oranges for sale to the market. The cooperative's oranges are mainly distributed to stores and retail points in the province and localities such as Hanoi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong... Thanks to safe production, the cooperative's oranges for outstanding quality, affirming the brand. Oranges are large, golden-yellow, fragrant, sweet, and highly appreciated by consumers. Currently, oranges at the garden are sold for 20 - 30 thousand VND/kg. To support people in consuming oranges conveniently, the cooperative actively contacts and coordinates with functional agencies to synchronously implement many solutions such as: Attending conferences to promote agricultural product consumption organized by the province ; increase product consumption through traders at wholesale markets inside and outside the province; coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to bring products into the system of supermarkets and safe stores; Connect with e-commerce platforms to bring oranges to consumers as quickly as possible. Besides, we focus on selling products through social networks such as Facebook and Zalo. When customers order online, we will harvest, package the product and then ship it to the requested address...

 

In order to support producers in improving productivity, product quality, and finding consumer markets, in recent times, the province has promoted consumption promotion activities and supported brand building and collective branding. , granting growing area codes for fruit tree groups in general, including orange trees to make information transparent to consumers. Up to now, departments and branches of the province have coordinated with localities to register intellectual property protection trademarks for Guangzhou oranges, Dong Tao oranges, Dong Thanh oranges... In addition, functional branches also supports cooperatives and gardeners to participate in many agricultural trade promotion events organized by central and provincial ministries and branches and coordinates to participate in fairs and exhibitions of agricultural products in Vietnam. provinces and cities nationwide. Currently, the Department of Industry and Trade is connecting with major contacts to expand orange consumption channels for gardeners as well as promote the Hung Yen orange brand.

According to the plan, many orange consumption promotion activities will be organized, in which the department will coordinate with sectors and localities to organize the Hung Yen Orange Market at Ecopark Urban Area (Van Giang) from January 2. December 2023 with 50 booths. Including 30 orange and citrus fruit stalls, 20 stalls are key agricultural products and rural industrial products of the province. Along with that, the department continues to promote agricultural product consumption channels through e-commerce platforms; Maintain sales channels through a chain of safe stores and supermarkets; create supply-demand connections between businesses and cooperatives and gardeners. To bring oranges into reputable distribution systems, gardeners need to properly follow the production process according to the instructions of technical staff; Pay attention to the quality of goods to ensure compliance with commitment requirements. Besides traditional sales channels, establishments need to proactively approach online and e-commerce channels.

 

It can be seen that the implementation of solutions to promote the consumption of Hung Yen orange products to the market is being implemented effectively by the province with many diverse connection and trade activities.
