Mr. Quan said: Currently, my family has 6 locations raising Dong Tao chickens with a total herd of over 1,000 chickens. At each breeding site, I place signs providing breeder chickens, broiler chickens, and gift chickens so that customers who live near a location can choose to buy from that location. This method helps me become known to many people, reducing consumption pressure at one farming location like before.

 

To improve quality and affirm the brand of livestock products with customers, Mr. Quan's family's Dong Tao chicken flock is raised for about 11 months before being sold. During the raising process, chickens are vaccinated with enough disease prevention vaccines and vitamin supplements to increase resistance when the weather changes. In particular, to give Dong Tao chickens beautiful plumage and red skin, Mr. Quan uses soaked rice as food for the chickens. According to Mr. Quan, rice after soaking will help chickens digest easily, provide fiber and better absorption. On cold days, Mr. Quan uses garlic yeast mixed in warm water for his chickens to drink to increase resistance. Currently, Mr. Quan's family's flock of commercial Dong Tao chickens for Tet weighs an average of 3.9kg/chicken; More than 200 customers have ordered Dong Tao chickens as gifts. In order to diversify livestock products, from 2023, Mr. Quan will also process more products from Dong Tao chicken such as: Salted chicken, Dong Tao chicken sausage... Not only selling products directly at the farm, Mr. Quan also increased product promotion on social networks, receiving goods sent to addresses requested by customers to help widely promote local specialty Dong Tao chicken products, improving production efficiency.
