Peach blossom trees removed leaves months ago are in buds. Peach blossom trees in bloom are dug around the roots to prepare for delivery. Mr. Tran Van Tuyen in Nhu Quynh town (Van Lam district) said that: I went to Phu Da peach blossom gardens every year to choose one tree for Tet display. Peach blossom trees here have big roots, beautiful shapes and various branches and buds and can be displayed till the end of Jan. on the lunar calendar.

Bonsai peach blossom do not only serve the customers inside the province, they are favored by those outside the province. Mr. Nguyen Van Ke, Secretary of the Party committee, Head of Phu Da residential group shared that at the beginning of 2000, the movement of growing peach blossom mushroomed in the locality. Up till now, there are nearly 50 households doing the profession with total area of 10 hectares which become the biggest peach blossom growing area of My Hao town. While Covid-19 is developing complicatedly, the input expenses increase, the growers still try to overcome the difficulties to ensure the blooming peach blossom in time for Tet holiday.

After 20 years of growing peach blossom, Phu Da residents gain experiences in taking care of peach blossom trees so that they will bloom on Tet. Many gardeners buy the automatic watering system, apply the techniques of assembling, trimming and shaping; thus the quality of peach blossom trees are getting higher. Especially, the weather this year is favorable which induces the trees to bloom in time for Tet. Mr. Khuc Van Rong, a garden's owner with nearly 100 peach blossom trees said that the hardest technique of the growers was to make the peach blossom to bloom on time. The growers must predict the weather as Tet is coming near to adjust the time to remove the leaves.

Removing leaves is not simple as it looks. It should be plucked along with the leave growing direction, or else the buds will lose. After removing all leaves on the tree, the growers should observe the weather to adjust the method. In case the weather is warm like this year and the peach blossom is likely to bloom sooner, it is necessary to limit the watering. If the weather is cold and the peach blossom could not bloom in time for Tet, it is necessary to increase the humidity by covering plastic bags over the trees and turn lights on all night.

For years now, peach blossom has become the main crop of Phu Da people. Thanks to peach blossom, many households have had a better life. In 2021, revenue from selling and renting peach blossom trees is estimated at about VND10 billion. However, in recent years, the peach blossom growing area in Phu Da has been increasingly narrowed due to urban planning. Many households that no longer have agricultural land have to switch to other occupations. M. Le Thi Thu Hoa, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ban Yen Nhan Ward said: The process of urbanization is an inevitable trend, but local leaders and many people in Phu Da residential group would like My Hao town to rearrange land for people to maintain peach blossom cultivation, as a way to preserve the traditional profession and create a stable source of income.
