Delegates attend the meeting

Following President Ho Chi Minh's call for "Patriotic Hygiene" to prevent diseases and improve health, each year, the Ministry of Health cooperates with ministries, branches, Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and other localities to launch the patriotic hygiene movement. The movement has received the attention and direction of the Party committees, authorities, sectors, unions and positive responses of the people. This will contribute to prevention of dangerous epidemics and diseases, preventing major epidemics’ breakout. Vietnam has made great progress in providing clean water and environmental sanitation; people's health has been constantly improved. In particular, Vietnam has initially successfully controlled Covid - 19 epidemic, which is highly appreciated by the world. This result is attributed by the frequent practice of washing hands with soap and clean water; hygiene and environmental protection are paid much attention.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen emphasized the significance and importance of environmental sanitation and personal hygiene in proactive disease prevention. The health sector has always accompanied the environment sector in mobilizing officials and employees to participate in environmental protection, reduce plastic waste, and protect biodiversity. Deputy Minister of Health proposed that ministries, branches and localities continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Health to promote propaganda activities on personal hygiene, prevention against epidemics and environmental protection effectively and sustainably.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Chairman Nguyen Duy Hung confirmed that Hung Yen had actively implemented many hygiene movements such as "clean eating, clean living", "clean village, clean lane", "building 3 sanitation works in each household ”. Up to now, the whole province has 73.6% of households having hygienic latrines; 75% of households use hygienic water, of which 45% of households use concentrated clean water. The rate of diseases has significantly decreased such as: hand-foot-mouth disease, diarrhea, food poisoning cases have been reduced. The province has promptly and effectively implemented the prevention and control of Covid - 19 epidemic, in order to prevent epidemic from spreading to the community.

At the meeting, the delegates performed the rituals of hand washing with soap in response to the patriotic hygiene movement.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Health awarded certificates and medals "For the people's health" to collectives and individuals; presented gifts which were water treatment equipment, hand-washing stations to some agencies in the province
