The outbreak of acute respiratory infections caused by new strain of Corona virus, first detected in China, has now been declared as a "global medical emergency" by the World Health Organization. To February 3, in Vietnam there are 8 infected cases, 27 suspected cases are isolated and monitored.
In Hung Yen province, there is no recorded case of nCoV infection. Currently, all levels and sectors in the province are paying special attention to the disease prevention and response measures in case of infection.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, emphasized: The prevention and control of nCoV epidemic is the central and urgent task of the whole political system at the present. He requested all levels and sectors to take the initiative and strictly follow the instructions of the Secretariat, the Government, the guidance of the Ministry of Health and the guiding documents of the Provincial Party Committee and the provincial People's Committee on the implementation of measures to prevent and cope with the epidemic. At the same time to properly assess the epidemic situation, closely forecast and timely guide; the functional agencies should well manage and monitor the health of people coming from epidemic areas.
For the health sector, the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee requested to develop and adjust the plan to cope with the disease timely from time to time; continue to review and provide sufficient medical equipment, supplies and manpower for health facilities to cope with and treat when people are infected; promote the propaganda for people to understand the causes and symptoms of the disease; avoid crowded places; when coming to public places, wear a mask; when there are symptoms of influenza and fever, it is necessary to go to medical facilities for advices and care; notify the phone numbers of the Provincial Steering Committee’s members, the Department of Health’s leaders and health facilities for people to contact when needed.
