At the celebration, Mr. Tran Quoc Van, Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented a speech to review the nation's tradition of fighting to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland; the contribution of the army and people of Hung Yen province in the struggles for national liberation and defense of the Fatherland and the meaning of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27).

Over the past 75 years, with different names and held in different circumstances, the purpose and meaning of July 27 have not changed. Every year on this occasion, the whole country in general, and Hung Yen province in particular, takes place the peak of the gratitude movement with a lot of practical and meaningful jobs, taking care of wounded soldiers, martyrs' families, and the families of people with meritorious services to the revolution; expressing the tradition of "filial piety and charity", the respect and gratitude of the Party, State and people for those who have sacrificed themselves for the independence and unification of the Fatherland and the peaceful life of the people.

Upholding the cultural and revolutionary traditions, the elite class of Hung Yen homeland has joined the whole country in making glorious victories in the resistance wars and defending the Fatherland. Over 30,000 young people have enthusiastically joined the army to save the country; 24,880 soldiers died heroically on the battlefield; over 15,000 soldiers have left a part of their body; over 8 thousand soldiers are carrying diseases in their bodies; over 3.5 thousand resistance activists have been infected with toxic chemicals, leaving behind toxic sequela for generations of children and grandchildren...

During the resistance war and the defense of the Fatherland, in the whole province there are over 100,000 people who have been awarded with medals of resistance; 2,293 mothers have been conferred and posthumously conferred the state honorary title “Vietnamese Heroic Mother”; 747 old revolutionaries, 533 pre-insurrection cadres...
