On April 11, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and US Agency of International Development (USAID) in Vietnam jointly hosted the announcement of provincial competitiveness index (PCI) and provincial green index (PGI) report 2022. ...

The ceremony saw the attendance of Mr. Tran Quoc Van, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The PCI report 2022 is the annual publication jointly compiled and announced by VCCI and USAID in order to evaluate and rank the business environment and economic administration quality of provinces and cities in Vietnam. PCI 2022 was built based on feedbacks of nearly 12,000 enterprises. PGI is the index set to rank the friendliness to the environment in provinces from the view of practical business such as the environment- friendly technology application level of local enterprises; ability of administration and response to the environment; the level of attention and investment readiness in environmental issues in local authorities and other environmental important issues. This was the first year PGI was built and released along with PCI in order to encourage the authorities and cities in provinces to pay more attention to economic growth attached with environmental protection; to give prompt information to support provincial and city government for investment attraction policy planning attached with sustainable development; accelerate the environment-friendly business ecosystem.

In 2022, Quang Ninh province continues to top PCI index with 72.95 out of 100 points.  Tra Vinh leads PGI index with 17.67 out of 40 points. 

Hung Yen province ranked the 14th in both PCI and PGI as scoring 67.91 out of 100 points for the former, up 25 places compared to 2021 and 15.77 out of 40 points for the latter.
