Delegates cut the ribbon to open the festival

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Bui The Cu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Hung Yen longan festival is an annual activity of the province and held at the beginning of the annual harvest of longans to promote propaganda and advertisement of Hung Yen longan to localities nationwide and international markets. Thereby, creating favorable conditions for consumers to enjoy good-quality longan products, at the same time, promoting cooperatives and gardeners to perform well the plantation and care of longan in accordance with VietGAP standards, ensuring food safety and maintaining Hung Yen longan brand.

Through the festival, the owners of gardens and cooperatives growing longans in the province have more opportunities to sign contracts to cooperate in producing and supplying Hung Yen longan products. In order for the festival to be successful, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee asked the organizers to prepare all favorable conditions for visitors, businesses, domestic and foreign traders to connect successfully with businesses, cooperatives and farms of the province; relevant agencies to ensure safety and convenience for trading and transporting longans and agricultural products of the province.

There are 50 stalls of districts, towns and city in the province participating in displaying and introducing Hung Yen longan and typical agricultural products of the locality. The festival takes place in three days, from July 31 to August 2 with many special contents, including a delicious longan contest 2020 held on July 31.

At the festival, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates to garden owners with fresh longan products winning prizes at Hung Yen delicious longan contest 2020, announced the decision and rewarded Certificates of OCOP products in Hung Yen province at phase 1, 2020. After cutting the ribbon to open the festival, the provincial leaders and delegates visited the booths introducing and displaying longans and agricultural products of the province.
