According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), up to now, the province has 15 growing regions for export longan; in which 2 longan growing regions are granted export code to the US market in Hong Nam commune (Hung Yen city) and Ham Tu commune (Khoai Chau district); 13 regions are granted export code to China. Up to now, the whole province has 4 areas that have been granted geographical indication certificate, including: Hung Yen city and districts: Khoai Chau, Kim Dong and Tien Lu.
This year's longan crop, DARD has supported growers to grow longan according to VietGAP standards for 1,300 hectares, for high quality products, with an estimated output of 16,000 tons of fruit.
