Van Giang safe vegetable, tuber and fruit cooperative was established in 2018; Currently, the cooperative has 24 members with a production area of 47.8 hectares, specializing in growing typical local fruit trees such as guavas and oranges. Of which, the area planted with Vinh oranges and sugar oranges is 30 hectares; Guava growing area is 13 hectares; The remaining area is planted with grapefruit, sapodilla and other vegetables. Previously, members of the cooperative grew guava using traditional methods. This method results in low productivity and product quality, mainly sold through traders, so prices are unstable. In order to improve productivity and product quality, members of the cooperative apply farming according to VietGAP process. In addition to participating in training classes and technical guidance from specialized agencies, cooperative members share, learn from each other and accumulate experience through harvest seasons.
Pear guava is an easy-to-grow plant, requires little care, low investment costs, high fruiting rate, and can be harvested all year round. During the production process, cooperative members use fertilizer in the following ratio: 60% organic (maize, crushed soybeans), 40% inorganic; Use biological pesticides and comply with the "4 right" principle. The entire process of fertilizing and using pesticides is kept on file for traceability.
Each year, members of the cooperative collect about 1,000 tons of guava output. Guava products grown according to VietGAP process achieve fragrant, crispy, sweeter fruit quality, ensuring food safety. The product is OCOP 3-star certified, consumed mainly through clean fruit and vegetable store chains in Hanoi, Quang Ninh and some neighboring provinces. The selling price is 30,000 - 35,000 VND/kg, higher than the price of similar products on the market from 5,000 to 10,000 VND/kg.

When harvesting, we feel secure because the cooperative purchases products at prices higher than the market. From growing guava, every year, my family brings a profit of about 120 million VND.
