Synchronous application in three areas

Over the past time, with the support of the central government and the province, the province's Agriculture and Rural Development sector has had many solutions to promote the development of agricultural production, including boosting support for businesses, cooperatives, and production households to apply high technology, digital technology in production in all three fields including cultivation, husbandry and aquaculture. The construction of an agricultural digital data system that allows storing and managing data of the agricultural industry, combined with an application to display data information is very necessary in the current period. In addition, building a digital agricultural mapping system will meet the goal of managing and continuously updating data on soil, hydrology, agriculture, forestry and fishery in all localities in the province.

Automation in livestock contributes to promoting the application of digital technology

Up to now, the digital technology in cultivation has been applied by the agricultural sector to the OTAS standard system in management and certification of fruit growing area codes for export. Currently, 17 planting area codes have been granted for longan, litchi, and banana products; deployed the construction of an electronic database for traceability of agricultural products (hy.check.net.vn); built and maintained agricultural, forestry and fishery products participating in the system; supported over 2.3 million stamps for product traceability for vegetables, fruits, meat, processed meat and fish products of the models; built a database of participating units in order to provide accurate and fastest information to create trust with consumers; built the models of using drones to spray pesticides and control pests on crops; applied intelligent irrigational system, water-saving irrigation in agricultural production for 3,700ha; updated prices and market information of agricultural products via online reports.

In the livestock sector, the agricultural sector has applied Vietnam’s Animal Health Information System (VAHIS) in disease reporting in livestock herds; developed epidemiological maps as a basis for advising on the disease prevention and control measures for livestock and poultry. The fisheries sector has built and established a database management system on fisheries belonging to the national database on fisheries in the province in order to strengthen the capacity of information technology application in aquaculture management in the area.

Nam Han mushroom production and breeding cooperative (An Thi), one of the pioneering cooperatives in high-tech application, actively produces commercial mushrooms at all stages, including the difficult ones especially the propagation and culture of fungal embryos. Currently, the cooperative maintains nearly 10,000 square meters of high-tech mushrooms in greenhouses. In order to modernize production and apply new technologies in all stages, the cooperative has boldly invested in machinery and equipment with a total cost of nearly 2 billion VND such as automatic material turning machines, lighting system, automatic watering system, temperature and humidity monitoring system... Thanks to boldly applying high technology in production, the cooperative can produce mushrooms all year round, even in hot weather. The application of high technology in production helps the cooperative to save 40 - 50% labor costs; its productivity has increased 30-40% per unit area as compared to traditional production; product quality is guaranteed…

Increase the proportion of digital agriculture

Along with the initial results in the application of digital technology to agricultural production, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is currently advising to carry out such tasks as: Applying remote sensing technology to provide rice age maps and area statistics by district and commune according to the monthly cycle; the project on building specialized database system in agriculture and rural development in Hung Yen province in the period of 2021 - 2025; the project to support improving product identification, connecting the consumption channel of specialty and key agricultural products, OCOP products, and craft village's products of Hung Yen province with the community of retailers in the period of 2021 - 2025; the project to investigate and evaluate the current situation of production and consumption of key agricultural products as a basis to support the construction of e-agriculture to serve the management and orientation of concentrated commodity agricultural areas associated with building a new rural area in Hung Yen province in the period of 2021 - 2025, with an orientation to 2030...

To focus on building big data of the industry such as land, crops, livestock, fisheries. To build an integrated observation and monitoring network in the air and on the ground for agricultural activities. To promote the provision of information on the environment, weather, and land quality for farmers to improve productivity and product quality, support and share agricultural equipment through digital platforms. At the same time, to apply digital transformation sucessfully in agricultural sector, it is necessary to accompany farmers and support them to apply digital technology to production with specific and practical policies.
