- Leaders of the Party and State visit and work in the province
On February 25, Mr. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly visited and worked in Hung Yen province, Chairman of the National Assembly and the delegation work with the Provincial Standing Party Committee; offer flowers and incense at the monument of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh; at the church Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, mother of President Ho Chi Minh, at National Monument of the Banyan Tree and La Tien Temple; visit of the construction project of Hung Ha bridge and the leading roads from the two ends of the bridge under the connecting road of Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway and Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway.
In 2017, Hung Yen province welcomed leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front such as Former President Truong Tan Sang; Politburo members Vuong Dinh Hue, Deputy Prime Minister; Tong Thi Phong, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vo Van Thuong, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Senior General To Lam, Minister of Public Security; General Nguyen Quyet, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee and former Vice Chairman of the State Council; Senior Lieutenant-General Pham Thanh Ngan, former member of the Politburo, former Chairman of the Political General Department of Vietnam People's Army; Mr. Phan Dinh Trac, Secretary of the Central Party Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee; members of the Central Party Committee: Mrs. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Vice President; Mr. Phung Quoc Hien, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr. Vu Duc Dam, Deputy Prime Minister.
2. Organize practical and effective anniversaries
Together with the whole country, our province celebrates important holidays and historical events such as: Celebrating 70 years of the tradition of Hung Yen armed forces (April 1, 1947 – April 1, 2017 ); Celebrating 70 years of war invalids and martyrs’ day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2017); Scientific seminar on Comrade Le Van Luong and To Hieu and National Historic Site of La Tien Banyan and Temple; The 100th anniversary of Russian October Revolution (November 7, 1917 - November 7, 2017); 70th anniversary of the establishment of Propaganda of the Provincial Party Committee (1947 – 2017).
On June 30, 2017, at the Provincial Convention center, Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, the People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee solemnly held a ceremony to present the national level title of Vietnam Heroic Mother . According to the decision of the President, there were 117 mothers in Hung Yen province to be awarded this time.
3. The contest of "Storytelling about study and following of thought, ethics and style of Ho Chi Minh" showed great success
Implementing the Plan No. 46-KH/TU dated February 24, 2017 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on organization of the contest "Storytelling about study and following of thought, ethics and style of president Ho Chi Minh" 2017, each department in the province organized contests with total 2,655 participants. There are 248 participants at district level and equivalents and 35 participants at provincial level. The contest was a great success and has become an extensive political activity forum for the Party Committee, among the entire people and the army in the province; therefore, people are deeply aware of the basic contents and great value of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morals and style.
4. National scientific seminars
On October 12, at the Headquarter of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee coordinated with Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to organize the scientific seminar "Comrade Le Van Luong with the Vietnamese revolution and Hung Yen's homeland" and "To Hieu with Vietnam revolution and Hung Yen homeland ". The seminars contribute to clarification of life, career and stature, contributions of two comrades to the revolution of the Party, the nation and Hung Yen's homeland.
On March 29, at the Provincial Convention Center, the Provincial People's Committee cooperated with the People's Army Newspaper and Vietnam Military History Institute to organize a scientific seminar on the National Historic Site of Banyan Tree and La Tien Temple and give more clarification on the value of the historical tradition, patriotism against the invaders, serving as a basis for building historical and cultural tourist sites.
5. Achieving and exceeding multiple socio-economic development targets
In the context of the country's economy facing a lot of difficulties, with the efforts of the Party, the government and the people, our province has carried out comprehensively and completed targets and tasks. Total product (GRDP) increased by 8.45%. The economic structure includes the proportion of industry - construction of 50% for the first time. Export turnover reached USD 3,680 million, up 15.05%; The province continues to promote administrative reform, create a favorable investment environment, boost up dialogue with businesses, maintain operational efficiency of Japanese support desk at Thang Long Industrial Park II and here are the results: Attract 255 investment projects in the area with the total registered capital of VND 15.5 trillion and USD 517.7 million (the year with highest progress in attracting foreign investment); there are 86 projects going into operation and 1,304 enterprises newly established (up 42.7%). Total registered capital is VND 13,086 billion (up 26.8%). A range of industrial zones are adjusted and newly planned such as Pho Noi A, Yen My, Vinh Khuc, Ngoc Long and Ly Thuong Kiet urban and industrial parks, Van Giang urban area.
Converting over 1,000 hectares of rice land to grow fruit trees, medicinal plants and flowers with high quality and efficiency; identify major seed varieties suitable for the conditions of the province; The average GDP reached VND 49.3 million. The poverty rate is 3.41%; the rate of trained workers is 58%; 2.24 thousand jobs are created, comprehensive education quality is maintained at the top of the country; there are 27 schools reaching national standards, the rate of cultural villages reaches 87%; that of cultural families reached 90%; the rate of communes meeting national standards on health care is 92%; results of clearance of violation works on agricultural land, traffic protection corridors, irrigation works and yards and illegal sand exploitation are positive.
6. State budget receipts reached VND 12 trillion
Year 2017 is the first year our province has full control of revenues and expenditures. Estimated state budget receipt is estimated at VND 10,650 billion, of which domestic receipt is VND 7,850 billion, import and export tax is VND 2,800 billion. In 2017, the total state budget receipt in the province reached VND 12,000 billion which accounts for 112.67% of the estimated figure (up 26.64% compared to 2016), of which domestic receipt reached VND 8,600 billion, which accounts for 109.55% of the estimated figure (up 28.27% compared to 2016). Import and export tax receipt is VND 3,400 billion, account for 121.4% of the estimated figure (up 22.69% compared to 2016).
7. Organizing a lot of exciting trade promotion activities
- On August 8, at the Convention Center of the province, the seminar of supply and demand connection of goods in Hung Yen province 2017 took place. At the seminar, delegates exchanged and shared their experiences in consumption promotion of regional specialties, and at the same time, enhancement of trade and products of Hung Yen.
- On August 7, in the Square area (Hung Yen city), the opening ceremony of Trade Fair of Red River region specialties 2017 and Hung Yen longan festival the first time were held. The fair attracted nearly 300 booths coming from hundreds of enterprises in 22 provinces and cities. On this occasion, the National Office of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology) announced and represented the Decision to issue the certification of geographical indication for Hung Yen longan.
8. My Hao district satisfies standards of new-style rural area
The work of new rural construction continues to be strengthened by the provinces and localities. By the end of 2017, there are 87 communes in My Hao district meeting the criteria of new style rural area accounting for 60% of communes. On average, the whole province achieved 17.7 criteria per commune. The performance of rural areas has prospered, the essential infrastructure has been upgraded, and people's living standards have been improved.
9. Boost investment promotion activities
During the year, the province sent 09 delegations of provincial leaders to promote investment in foreign countries, and worked with 65 foreign delegations who come to study, sign agreements on investment cooperation on implementing Ly Thuong Kiet industrial urban area and the project of electricity conversion from waste gas; exchanging teaching experience; supporting teacher training and online interaction in the field of education; providing nursing, technical workers in medicine, etc.
In particular, the provincial leaders attended the APEC Entrepreneur Summit, interacting directly with dozens of leading billionaires in the world.
10. Provincial defense zone rehearsal saw a great success
From September 26 to September 28, Hung Yen province organized the provincial defense zone rehearsal 2017. After 3 days, the rehearsal has satisfied the purpose and requirements as planned, and completed the tasks to ensure the motto of efficiency, confidentiality, safety and thrift.
The rehearsal aimed at implementing mechanism in handling defense and security situations of the local political system and identifying roles, functions and tasks of forces in the defensive area when emergency situation occurs. It also improves the awareness of the provincial officials, party members, people and armed forces in the task of building the people defense, building a solid defense area; clearly identifying plots and tricks of hostile forces; enhancing responsibilities, leadership, management and implementation capacities as well as coordination of committees, authorities and agencies and promptly adjusting the combat plan in order to build Hung Yen province as a solid defense area, contributing to protection of the locality and the socialist republic of Vietnam.
