Hung Yen’s Early Longan Harvest Reaches Nearly 4,000 Tons

Hung Yen Province is expecting an early longan yield of nearly 4,000 tons this season, with peak harvest activity now underway across key growing districts including Khoai Chau, Kim Dong, Tien Lu, and An Thi. Prices are ranging between VND 50,000 and 70,000 per kilogram, depending on quality and size.

The province currently has over 4,900 hectares under longan cultivation, with 4,600 hectares of fruit-bearing trees. Thanks to favourable weather and improved cultivation techniques, more than 90% of these trees have successfully flowered and set fruit - a significant 30–35% increase compared to last year.

At present, most longan orchards are in the young fruit development stage, while about 350 hectares that were treated for early flowering are already being harvested.
