Workers working at Hung Yen Garment Corporation - Joint Stock Company (Hung Yen city)
With just over 2 months left until the end of 2023, this is an important time for businesses in the province in general and textile and garment enterprises in particular to review and supplement solutions, while promoting production activities, business to achieve the set goals and targets.
These days, more than 3,300 workers of Hung Long Garment and Services Joint Stock Company located in Di Su ward (My Hao town) are working hard to keep up with export orders. Mr. Ngo Minh Hoan, CEO of the Company said: The Company encourages workers to strive to meet the needs of export orders to the US, European, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese markets. . This year, due to difficulties in the export garment market, we had to look for new markets, accept small orders, requiring more difficult techniques, and the unit price decreased by 40 - 50%. We are in a situation where the company's operations are almost unprofitable. In the first 9 months of the year, the company's exports reached 550 billion VND, down about 20% compared to the same period last year. Therefore, it affects the income of workers, the current income level of workers is from 8.5 to 8.8 million VND/person/month, 10% to 15% lower than last year. The company is making efforts to search and connect to expand the market to increase the number of orders. Maintain investment solutions in machinery, technological equipment, improve productivity, product quality, skills, and prepare labor resources to meet production activities when the market recovers.
Mr. Vu Chien Thang, Director of Youngone Hung Yen Co., Ltd., Chinh Nghia commune (Kim Dong), said: The company specializes in producing fashion clothes for export to the US, European and Korean markets. This year, despite many difficulties, businesses always strive to improve product quality to meet partners' standards; Businesses still have orders, workers still have jobs, income is stable, contracts have not decreased. Currently, the company has signed orders, ensuring workers will have jobs until the end of March 2024. However, because order prices decreased compared to before, although the company's exports in the past 9 months reached about 1,000 billion VND, profits decreased compared to the same period last year. Currently, the business is ensuring jobs for nearly 2,100 workers, with an average income of 8.3 to 8.5 million VND/person/month (down about 500,000 - 800,000 VND/person/month compared to last year). 2022).
Currently, many garment enterprises in the province have proactively and flexibly found solutions to cope with difficulties by restructuring products, finding new customers, and increasing trade promotion in new markets. new; At the same time, take full advantage of the advantages and opportunities from Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and the economic recovery of many countries.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, said: In the province, there are currently about 100 enterprises operating in the garment sector, creating jobs for over 40,000 workers. Garment enterprises in recent times have made many contributions to the province's industrial growth. From the end of 2022 until now, the decline in garment orders is mainly due to the crisis in the European market, the US and many other countries, and high inflation. People in these countries and regions tend to tighten spending, leading to textile importers and distributors having to operate moderately, leading to a decrease in production orders for partners. Besides, there is competition from textile and garment enterprises in China, India, Bangladesh...

Therefore, to overcome challenges, businesses continue to improve production processes, cut costs, lower prices, and direct to sustainable development to meet the increasingly stringent requirements of the global garment market. At the same time, businesses must diversify their products, proactively participate in trade promotion activities, approach, learn about and penetrate new markets, which is also a solution to help businesses get more orders. goods during difficult times.
Along with being proactive and promoting the internal strength of each business, textile and garment businesses in the province are in dire need of support from the State such as support for reducing, relaxing, and extending taxes, fees, and insurance. social insurance for businesses; continue to reduce lending interest rates and create conditions for garment businesses to access loans at preferential interest rates...
To support textile and garment enterprises, in recent times, the Department of Industry and Trade has promoted business connection programs; increase information for businesses to grasp the province's support policies on technological innovation, transfer of advanced equipment into production; international market information; information and support for businesses to participate in domestic and foreign trade promotion activities; increase dissemination, organize seminars, training, propaganda about FTAs,.... help businesses exploit opportunities from FTAs. In addition, the Department focuses on implementing investment in infrastructure construction of industrial clusters according to planning to create a clean space to call and attract businesses, industrial production projects in general and industrial products. Support the textile industry in particular.
The remaining months of 2023 are the time for the textile and garment industry to accelerate and contribute to the province's economic and social development and growth.
