Because they have built a brand and guaranteed quality, most of the large longan gardens in Hung Yen city have had customers placing orders at higher prices than in 2023.

Ne Chau longan cooperative in Hong Nam commune (Hung Yen city) has 33 members with a farming area of ​​18 hectares. To date, 100% of the cooperative members' farming areas have been certified for production according to VietGAP standards. In addition, the cooperative was granted a certificate of rights to use the geographical indication "Hung Yen" for longan products. These things have created a brand for the cooperative's longan fruit.

 

Therefore, before each ripe longan season, the cooperative has many partners from many provinces and cities across the country to learn and cooperate in longan consumption. Due to proper technical care, the cooperative's fresh longan fruit output this year is estimated to reach over 400 tons, nearly doubling compared to 2023. In addition to ensuring product consumption for members, the cooperative also covers Selling products to many households in villages and communes when longan gardens meet quality requirements. The cooperative is purchasing products for 60 households with a total area of ​​30 hectares. To be ready for longan consumption activities during the harvest season, the cooperative's Board of Directors proactively and actively searches for consumer markets in the high-end segment such as: Supermarkets, clean and partially licensed fruit and vegetable stores. exported to England. Mr. Bui Xuan Su, Deputy Director of Ne Chau longan cooperative said: Along with converting 100% of the cooperative members' area to production according to VietGAP standards, we also propagate and guide people. Villagers converted to longan production according to VietGAP standards so that the longans were of good quality and safe. Besides, I continue to pioneer the conversion from my family's VietGAP longan garden to organic longan to aim for safe and sustainable agricultural production.  The longan is produced organically, the tree is healthy, the yield is stable, and the fruit has a sweet, fragrant taste that customers trust and choose. In addition to domestic orders, this year, a partner ordered 2 tons of organically produced Huong Chi longan for export to the UK market. The partner also placed a trial order of more than 1 quintal of longan with square pulp to the UK to explore and evaluate the market for export in the following years.

 

In Khoai Chau longan area, the harvest season is not yet underway, but longan garden owners have urgently linked and connected to find a consumer market for longan fruit. This year, the district's longan output is estimated to reach 9,000 tons. To avoid the price of longan from falling when entering the main harvest like in previous years, longan garden owners carry out renovation and care so that the longan fruit not only has a beautiful design but is also fragrant and sweet. Along with promoting and finding longan consumption markets, many longan gardens in Khoai Chau have combined to organize sightseeing and experience activities at longan gardens. This is an attractive activity, attracting many tourists from all over the country and even foreign tourists to experience it. Comrade Luu Quang Phuc, Head of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Khoai Chau district, said: Along with the initiative of longan growing households, Khoai Chau district actively coordinates with the province in the process of organizing consumption promotion activities. longan such as: longan festival, longan market... thereby helping to bring longan to more high-end markets, good consumption at higher prices, bringing high economic efficiency to local people.

At this time, traders from all over are flocking to longan growing areas in the province to learn about supply sources, negotiate prices and place consumption orders. Currently, the selling prices of all types of longans in the province have increased compared to last year, of which, Huong Chi longan costs 35 - 40 thousand VND/kg, longan pulp costs 60 - 80 thousand VND/kg, and some special types of longans such as : Rock sugar and ancient pulp sell for 120 - 150 thousand VND/kg.
