Raising fish in cages on the river brings high economic efficiency in Tan Hung commune (Hung Yen city)

 

After more than 1 year of implementing Resolution No. 19, the field of cultivation has had strong changes in crop and crop structure, with a breakthrough, contributing to reducing risks caused by natural disasters and epidemics, increasing high productivity, quality and production value. From 2022 to the end of June 2023, the whole province has converted 1,200 hectares of low-efficiency tree planting to perennial and annual crops combined with livestock and aquaculture to bring higher economic efficiency. , bringing the total converted area to 19,240 hectares. Many models of producing vegetables, fruits, medicinal plants... generate income 3-5 times higher than rice production.

 

From 2022 up to now, the province has supported 50% of the funding for farmers to buy 33.5 tons of new rice varieties with high yield potential, good quality, and adaptation to climate change to replace old rice varieties. (corresponding to 6.5 billion VND); 50% of the budget to buy 315 tons of organic and micro-organic fertilizers to fertilize fruit production areas meeting VietGAP standards to increase product quality (approximately 1.3 billion VND). To date, the whole province has 3,737 hectares of fruit trees certified to meet VietGAP standards. Localities are producing organic agriculture with an area of ​​48.62 hectares; In the organic direction, there are 85 hectares, contributing to increasing the value obtained per hectare of cultivation from 210 million VND/hectare/year (2020) to 230 million VND/hectare/year (2020). 2022) and is expected to reach 240 million VND/hectare in 2023.

 

Livestock farming has clearly changed towards concentrated farming, biosecurity, application of advanced techniques, improved quality of livestock breeds and strict management. Schemes and projects to develop high-quality, biosafety livestock production have been implemented effectively; Animal breeds are well implemented, contributing to bringing the rate of 3-blood crossbred cows to 40-45%, the rate of lean pig herd reaching 100%; The percentage of chicken flocks with colored feathers reached over 90%, of which the percentage of Dong Tao chickens and hybrid Dong Tao chickens accounted for over 35%; The rate of biosafety farming accounts for 50%. The entire province has certified 55 agricultural production models, increasing the total VietGahp certified scale to more than 2.8 million cattle and poultry, safely produced along the chain.

 

Currently, the whole province has 5,239 hectares of aquaculture, of which 1,930 hectares are intensive farming areas, the rest are semi-intensive, extensive farming and aquatic seed production areas; Productivity reaches nearly 8 tons/hectare/1 farming cycle. Aquaculture has many positive changes in terms of changing the structure of breeds and species, diversifying objects and farming methods, gradually shifting from small-scale household farming to farming by cooperatives and enterprises. ; from extensive farming to intensive farming, actively applying technology to raise river fish in still water ponds, raise cages on rivers and raise aquatic products in semi-floating ponds with farming species of high economic value. To date, the aquaculture area according to VietGAP standards has reached 92.2 hectares and 173 fish cages for safe production in the chain.

 

The transfer and application of science and technology into agricultural production is focused on leadership and implementation by the province and has achieved quite comprehensive results. Digital transformation in the agricultural sector has been promoted, the province's agriculture and rural development sector has deployed the construction and application of software: Applying information technology in quality management and product traceability; Applying remote sensing technology to provide rice age maps and area statistics; Building an electronic agricultural ATLAST map (WEBGIS) to serve the management and orientation of specialized agricultural commodity areas...

 

In the coming time, the province's Agriculture and Rural Development sector will promote the restructuring of the agricultural sector towards large-scale and safe commodity production, applying high technology, creating products with productivity, quality, and potential. competitiveness and sustainable development. Rapidly develop large-scale concentrated production areas, quickly introduce mechanization into production; Applying advanced and modern production processes associated with processing and preservation to improve product quality, lower costs, increase the competitiveness of goods, increase added value and sustainable development. Promote the application of science and technology in agricultural and rural development. Actively advise the province to improve the system of mechanisms and policies, focus on mobilizing resources to develop agriculture towards large-scale concentrated commodity production; develop high-tech agriculture and organic agriculture in planned areas; support promotion, market development and technology transfer. Promote investment attraction through ODA and FDI capital sources to invest in production development and rural infrastructure construction. At the same time, proactively select and apply advanced technology, especially seed technology, automation technology, computerization, and post-harvest technology in agricultural production.
