From July 1st, 2025, the two-tiered local government model officially came into operation. The entire country reorganized and merged 63 provinces and cities into 34, including the merger of Thai Binh and Hung Yen provinces into a new province, Hung Yen. This is not only an administrative merger but also a connection between two regions rich in cultural, scholarly, and revolutionary traditions. The merger will open up new development opportunities, enhance competitiveness, attract investment, reform administrative procedures, modernize infrastructure, and bring practical benefits to the people. The newly formed Hung Yen province will have more favorable conditions to expand, develop sustainably, and keep pace with the trends in the era of national progress.
