Chu Dong Tu - Tien Dung festival is one of 16 major festivals of the country. It is a picture of rich and lively spiritual life and carries profound cultural values of the ancient Vietnamese in exploitation of marsh and alluvium along the Red River thousands of years ago. This is not only a place to impart and spread the legendary story about a beautiful and sacred love between a poor boy named Chu Dong Tu and Princess Tien Dung  who was the 18th daughter of Hung King but also a place to educate filial affection, humanistic love and kindness to the next generations. The festival also shows the aspiration of the people to pray for favorable weather for bumper cultivation, peace, wealth and happiness.

The people of villages under ancient Me commune held the palanquin procession to Da Hoa temple, Binh Minh commune (Khoai Chau district).

The festival is organized every 3 years with the participation of 9 villages of ancient Me commune which are now 9 villages of 2 communes: Binh Minh (Khoai Chau district) and Me So (Van Giang district). In the first day of the festival, the villages carried out the procession of Thanh Hoang palanquin to Da Hoa temple, Binh Minh commune to attend the festival and then offered incense to God.

In addition to the ceremony, during the festival, there were traditional folk games, musical exchanges and sporty activities such as Chinese chess, swimming, Ca tru singing, Cheo singing, dragon dance.

The highlight of this year's festival is the water procession, yacht sight-seeing on the Red River.

The festival took place in 3 days, from March 15 – March 17 ( February 10 to February 12 February on the lunar calendar).
