Delegates attend the conference at the Hung Yen destination

According to the report of the Ministry of Planning and Investment on the socio-economic development situation: The average economic growth rate of the whole region in the first 6 months of the year reaches 7.67%, higher than the national average (5.64%); in which the Northern key economic region attains 7.78%. Total state budget revenue in the area in 8 months reaches 356,000 billion VND (33.5% of the total revenue of the country), reaching nearly 74% of the estimate. Export turnover in 8 months reaches 72 billion USD, up 15.7% over the same period (nearly 34% of the whole country), of which the Northern key economic region attains 65 billion USD, up 20.3% over the same period last year and accounts for about 30.1% of the whole country. Total FDI capital in the whole region in the past 8 months reaches 5.8 billion USD (30% of the whole country) with 1,245 projects (27.7% of the whole country). The total number of newly established enterprises in 8 months of the region is 26,289 enterprises, ranking the second after the Southeast region; the registered capital is 353,552 billion VND (31.2% of the whole country); the number of enterprises returning to operation is 11,062 enterprises; creating jobs for 193,552 workers, leading the country. By the end of August, the whole region has 109 established industrial parks (28% of the total number of established industrial parks); in which there are 25 industrial parks in operation with the occupancy rate of 65.8%; there are 3,011 foreign-invested projects in the industrial parks with the implemented capital reaching of 123.05 billion USD.

Regarding public investment: In 8 months of 2021, the disbursement rate of the Red River Delta reaches 52.9%. In which, the disbursed balance capital of local budget reaches 58.9%; central budget's capital attains 25.3% (the disbursed domestic capital of central budget reaches 53.9%, disbursed foreign capital reaches 3.6%). The disbursement in the first eight months of 2021 of the Red River Delta region is higher than the national average (42.92%).

At the conference, localities gave an overview of the socio-economic development and disbursement of public investment capital in the first 8 months of 2021; raised a number of difficulties and problems encountered due to the implementation of social distancing such as: the problem of the consulting team, the disruption of the supply chain of goods, services, and laborers... and proposed remedial methods so that the locality has a foundation for performance in the near future.

Concluding the conference, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that the fourth quarter of 2021 and 2022 are the foundation for effectively conducting the common tasks of the 2021-2025 period. Achieving the economic growth target in 2022 requires great efforts of localities, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung suggested ministries, central branches and localities to focus on strictly carrying out the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control work, not allow the epidemic to re-emerge, ensure the safety and health of the people, ensure social security and production; localities need to make solutions and plans for economic recovery in the context of complicated epidemic developments; grasp the trend of major economies in the world; accelerate economic reform and restructuring, well implement three strategic breakthroughs; focus on creating an investment environment, promptly remove difficulties for enterprises; speed up the formulation of local planning and related plans; strive to fulfill the set growth targets.
