Recognizing the importance of propaganda and tourism promotion activities to tourism development, on December 23, 2016, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 3147/QD-UBND approving the project "Tourism propagation and promotion in Hung Yen province in the period 2016-2020". Implementing the project, in the past 5 years, tourism propaganda and promotion has been paid attention and better deployed by the province, focusing on coordinating with central and local press agencies to propagate, promote and introduce tourist attractions, historical and cultural sites, traditional festivals and typical tourism products such as: Coordinating with Vietnamese television, VTC Digital Television, Hung Yen Newspaper, Hung Yen Radio and Television Station, Vietnam Tourism Magazine to carry out promotional programs about Hung Yen tourism; practical experience programs and Hung Yen tourism films.
Regarding tourism propagation and promotion activities, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism strengthens connection and cooperation in tourism development with provinces and cities throughout the country such as: Signing a cooperation program on tourism development in the period 2018-2020 among the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of cities and provinces: Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc; tourism development cooperation between Hung Yen province and Hai Duong province; cooperation with travel businesses among provinces and cities: Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyento bring tourists back to Hung Yen province. In addition, the province also actively carries out destination surveys, connects tours with provinces in the Red River Delta such as Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Ninh Binh and Hai Duong.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Sen, Director of Hung Yen Tourism Promotion and Information Center said: With assigned functions and tasks, the Center has actively built tourism information counters at festivals and events in the province such as Ung Temple Festival, Pho Hien folk cultural festival, Hung Yen longan festival to provide thousands of tourism publications for free and introduce tourism potentials to visitors. The center also actively promotes cooperation activities, information exchange and website link with Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities nationwide; launch the tourism promotion programs at major tourism events throughout the country such as: VITM Hanoi International Tourism Fair in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020; Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020; Hung Temple Festival in Phu Tho 2016; Hanoi Traditional Craft Village Tourism Festival. At the same time, the center received domestic and international delegations to visit and learn about the market combined with tourism in the province. Hung Yen city arranged to receive 95 delegations with 1,985 tourists from Australia, Development Bank Asia, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, delegations to visit longan and orange growing areas; receive a delegation of American and British nationals to visit the traditional incense making village in Cao village, Bao Khe commune (Hung Yen city).

After 5 years of implementing the project, Hung Yen tourism has made significant progress, contributing to the economic and social development of the province. Tourism products become more diversified and gradually improved in quality. The number of visitors to Hung Yen province has increased over the years, with an average growth rate of 10% to 12%. In 2019, Hung Yen welcomed about 1 million visitors; revenue from tourism reached over VND220 billion. .
In order thatthe development of Hung Yen tourism is commensurate with its potential, in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop and issue the Project "Propagation and promotion of Hung Yen tourism in the period of 2021-2025” and focus on: developing spiritual and cultural tourism products; Red river tourism and ecotourism; positioning the image of "Hung Yen Tourism - Vietnamese soul charm" to a large number of domestic and international tourists; strengthening the market research and survey; improving the quality of activities of promotion, publicity, information, communication and cooperation in tourism development; formulating mechanisms and policies on socialization;and encouraging organizations, businesses and individuals to make investment in tourism product development.
