Van Lam district has a rapid urban development rate

Van Giang district is considered the locality with the best progress in the province in implementing the urban development program. According to the prescribed standards of urban classification criteria, Van Giang district scored 84.79, meeting class III urban standards and is striving to achieve class II urban criteria in the period 2030- 2037.

 

Van Giang district focuses on activities such as: Planning, infrastructure development, development of new urban areas... In which, the district is implementing the work of preparing 11 urban subdivision planning projects, 1 project Detailed planning of urban center area E-CT01. Currently, there are 2 urban subdivision planning projects: E3, E4 approved by the Provincial People's Committee. Along with that, the district has completed the preparation and approval of the project to adjust the 1/2000 scale construction zoning plan of Long Hung Land - Van Giang - Zone B new urban area by the Provincial People's Committee. Projects that create impetus for urban development are emphasized by the district. Ongoing urban development projects are accelerating construction investment, creating a spacious, modern, and synchronous urban appearance in architecture and landscape such as: Ecopark Urban Area, Dream Urban Area City...Comrade Nguyen Quoc Chuong, Vice Chairman of Van Giang District People's Committee, said: In the period 2026 - 2030, the district will continue to focus resources on urban development according to the planning and development orientation of the province. It is recommended that the province continue to pay attention and prioritize resources for the district to complete the missing and weak criteria of class III urban areas and implement a number of more motivating projects to promote Van Giang urban development in the future. period 2026-2030, aiming to reach class II urban standards by 2030.

 

Besides the advantages, some localities also encounter difficulties in urban development. Through review and evaluation, Hung Yen city currently reaches 69.21/100 points of class II urban standards, with many criteria still unsatisfactory. In particular, the criteria of population size, level of infrastructure development and architecture, and urban landscape are big challenges. The current population of Hung Yen city is 133,747 people, while the requirement for class II urban standards is 200,000 people or more. The population density in the inner city area is 6,638 people/km², while the minimum required standard is 8,000 people/km². Besides, the city does not have any new urban areas planned according to a green, smart model. Comrade Nguyen Kha Phuc, Chairman of Hung Yen City People's Committee said: To overcome these limitations, the city is inviting investment in the trade and service sector, prioritizing social housing projects to attract workers and residents from neighboring areas. In the coming time, the city will focus heavily on urban construction projects, especially projects aimed at expanding and developing urban infrastructure, focusing on transportation, highlight projects, and cultural institutions. society, key investments for 5 communes striving to become wards. The City requested the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to have a special mechanism to support resources for the city in implementing urban infrastructure construction.

 

My Hao town is trying to upgrade to a class III urban area, but many standards are still not met. Notably, the current standard for population density on construction land area only reaches 4.98 people/km², while the minimum level is 6 people/km². The public passenger transport service rate is about 3%, while the standard is ≥6%. The rate of treated wastewater reaches 12.5%, while the minimum requirement is 25%. To improve these criteria, the town is focusing on investing in transportation infrastructure, wastewater treatment, and developing more urban functional areas, such as: Construction of roads and embankments of Ban - Vu Xa river, renovation and upgrading of Le Quang Hoa road; Phu Gia housing project... On the other hand, urgently complete the processes and procedures for adjusting the town's general planning, completing the urban development program and project to upgrade the town's urban class.

 

According to the province's Urban Development Program, by 2030 it is expected that the whole province will have 19 urban areas; Of which, Hung Yen City basically meets the criteria for a grade I urban area; My Hao town meets the criteria for a grade II urban area (planned to establish My Hao city); 2 class III urban areas are Van Giang urban area and Van Lam urban area; 7 class IV urban areas and 8 new class V urban areas in districts. To achieve the set goals, the province continues to focus on mobilizing resources, from local budget to socialization resources; attract businesses to invest in infrastructure projects, housing, and urban services; Upgrade the transportation system, wastewater treatment, and increase the rate of public passenger transportation. Localities focus resources on implementing essential projects to supplement and complete unsatisfactory urban criteria. Organize and prepare a project to request recognition and upgrade of urban class and prepare a project to establish an urban administrative unit according to regulations.
