A Sacred Place Carrying Uncle Ho's Warmth in the Heart of Hien Town
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh visited Hung Yen ten times. With each visit, Uncle Ho left behind invaluable guidance, filled with dedication to the province's development.
On January 5, 1958, during one of his visits to Hung Yen, Uncle Ho took his afternoon rest at the Hung Yen Provincial Administrative Committee's office, which was constructed in 1956. This was an extraordinarily meaningful event, leading to the decision in 1973 by the Party Committee and People's Committee of Hai Hung Province (now Hung Yen and Hai Duong) to transform this location into the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House. Since then, it has become a sacred destination in the hearts of the people of the Longan Land and the entire nation.
The Ho Chi Minh Memorial House is located within the Crescent Lake complex in Hung Yen City.
The house was built in the traditional Northern Vietnamese architectural style, featuring three main sections and one side room, with a thatched roof, constructed beneath ancient longan trees. Despite the passage of time and multiple renovations, the Memorial House has preserved its original beauty—simple and approachable. The central section is the most solemn area, housing the altar and statue of Uncle Ho alongside the inscription "Forever Grateful to the Great President Ho Chi Minh," serving as a sacred reminder of His immense contributions.
The altar and Uncle Ho's statue are placed in the central section of the Memorial House.
The two side sections display precious photographs, artifacts, and documents about Uncle Ho and Hung Yen Province, prominently featuring a model of the Bac Hung Hai irrigation system—a hydraulic project bearing Uncle Ho's profound imprint. During his lifetime, Uncle Ho paid special attention to this major project, personally visiting multiple times to inspect and encourage both military personnel and civilians at the construction site. In the left auxiliary section of the house, where Uncle Ho rested in 1958, the original bamboo bed, desk and chair set, and washbasin stand remain—simple artifacts connected to His daily life.
A "Red Address" for Traditional Education of the Young Generation
The Memorial House serves not only as a display space but also as a bridge connecting history with the present. Comrade Nguyen Duc Khoi, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Pho Hien Special National Historical Site, stated: "Annually, during Uncle Ho's birthday commemoration and major holidays, the Memorial House welcomes thousands of visitors who come to offer incense in remembrance. Provincial leaders, delegations, and people from within and outside the province visit here to express their reverence to Uncle Ho while reporting achievements in homeland and national construction endeavors."

Each year, the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House welcomes numerous visiting delegations.
The Memorial House has become a familiar destination not only for Hung Yen residents but also for numerous domestic and international tourists. Every visitor who sets foot here carries indescribable emotions—veterans with tear-filled eyes paying solemn respects before Uncle Ho's altar, young children attentively listening to teachers narrate stories about Uncle Ho, or foreign tourists respectfully offering fragrant incense while quietly listening to interpreters recount His simple yet great life.
Student Dao Thi Ha Chi from 7th grade in Thuan Hung commune (Khoai Chau) emotionally shared: "Every year, my parents bring me to visit Uncle Ho's Memorial House on His birthday. I stand before the altar to report my academic achievements to Uncle Ho and promise to continue striving to be worthy of being Uncle Ho's good child, excellent student, and beloved grandchild." These innocent yet emotional words touch all listeners, providing renewed motivation for living and working.

On October 29, 2019, the Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee officially classified the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House as a provincial-level historical relic. This recognition not only appropriately acknowledges the historical, cultural, and spiritual values preserved here but also affirms the unwavering loyalty of the Hung Yen Party Committee and people to Uncle Ho.
During these historic May days, as the entire nation turns toward President Ho Chi Minh's birthday with infinite gratitude, the children of the Longan Land return to that modest house where He once stopped and left an indelible mark. Amid the lingering incense smoke filling the space, Uncle Ho's eyes seem to continue watching over each step of the homeland's development. Firmly holding onto Uncle Ho's teachings from the past, each Hung Yen resident today strives daily to build an increasingly prosperous, civilized homeland worthy of the affection and trust that Uncle Ho bestowed upon them.
