The temple worships Mrs. Lam Tuc Mo, the Chinese god of navigation, revered by the people as Thien Hau. According to "Dai Thanh Nhat Thong Chi", she is from Fujian (China), with a legend that when she was born, she had a sweet fragrance, a brilliant aura, grew up with a miracle riding a mat flying over the sea. She discovered a type of seaweed used to cook jelly as food to relieve hunger for the people and found a cooking oil called ma carp extracted from sesame to help poor people overcome poverty. She was proficient in medicine, so she often treated and saved people, taught people how to prevent diseases, and was greatly admired by everyone. On the 9th day of the 9th lunar month, she did not get sick but turned. After transforming, she often wears a red shirt and flies over the sea to rescue ships. The Fujian people respect her as the God of the sea, so wherever they go, they bring the goddess of setting up a temple there.

The temple was built in the sixteenth - seventeenth centuries, by 14 Chinese families in Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian living in Pho Hien, who donated materials to be transferred by sea, and at the same time combined with artisans. built by the Vietnamese. Every year, Thien Hau Temple holds a festival on the 23rd day of the third lunar month as her birthday and the ninth day of the lunar calendar as the day of her transformation. On these days, the people of China and Vietnam come to the ceremony and procession in a very crowded and solemn procession. The offerings offered are traditional Chinese dishes such as Rong Cau cake, Siu candy, Turtle cake, and To Chau cake.

 

Thien Hau Temple was ranked as a national architectural and artistic relic in 1992 and is one of 16 typical monuments of the special national relic "Pho Hien relic area".
