Among traditional art forms such as Ca trù (ceremonial singing), Trống quân (military drum singing), Cheo opera, Van singing, and others, each art form contains distinctive values and carries the spirit and soul of the nation.

According to the inventory results of intangible cultural heritage conducted by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, there are currently 48 people practicing Ca trù singing in the province; 11 people capable of teaching, and dozens of others currently learning.

Bright spots in the province's work of preserving and promoting Ca trù art are the Giao Phong Ca trù Club (Van Giang) and the Dao Dang Ca trù Club (Hung Yen City). These two clubs actively engage in practicing and teaching Ca trù singing and have veteran artisans as core members who can conduct teaching and skill development in instrumental accompaniment and Ca trù singing for club members and individuals who love Ca trù.

From 2012 to the present, the two clubs have collaborated to open dozens of classes teaching skills such as instrumental performance, singing, rhythm clappers, and ceremonial drums, attracting many participants. People's Artisan Do Thi Thanh Nhan, Director of the Dao Dang Ca trù Club, shared: "Starting from my love for Ca trù, since 2012, I have participated in teaching hundreds of students Ca trù singing. My aspiration is that increasingly more young people will love and become familiar with Ca trù singing so that this distinctive folk art form will forever resonate and spread far along the cultural mainstream of our nation."

Alongside Ca trù, Trống quân singing is a traditional art "specialty" of Hung Yen province in artistic stage competitions from grassroots to professional levels. The national intangible cultural heritage of Trống quân singing is being preserved, maintained, and developed in many communes throughout the province, including: Pham Hong Thai, An Vi (Khoai Chau); Tan Tien, Nghia Tru, Vinh Khuc (Van Giang); Dong Than (Yen My); Bai Say, Hoang Hoa Tham (An Thi), and others.

To ensure that ancient songs would not be lost, in 1993, the Da Trach Trống quân Club (Khoai Chau) was established with 8 initial members. After more than 30 years of sustained activity, the club now has 30 members, organizes regular activities, and participates in numerous performances and cultural programs within and outside the province, bringing home prestigious medals for the Trống quân melodies. The artisans in the club also enthusiastically pass on Trống quân singing techniques to younger generations through extracurricular sessions at schools and training classes organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In the process of preserving and promoting traditional arts, artisans and artists play crucial roles as custodians of the cultural heritage links between past and present.

Currently, the entire province has 1 People's Artist, 3 Distinguished Artists, 1 People's Artisan, and 34 Distinguished Artisans who directly participate in creating, preserving, transmitting, and promoting distinctive intangible cultural values in localities.

To enable artisans and artists to fully utilize their capabilities and dedication to teaching traditional arts, the province has implemented numerous policies in recent years to support and encourage their participation in activities for preserving and promoting cultural heritage values. Among these, the preparation of dossiers for consideration of conferring titles such as "People's Artisan," "Distinguished Artisan," "People's Artist," and "Distinguished Artist" has helped honor and recognize artisans and artists who have made significant contributions to preserving and promoting the nation's traditional arts.

Mr. Dao Manh Huan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated: "The traditional art forms in Hung Yen represent the crystallization of indigenous cultural values that are increasingly spreading throughout social life, contributing to consolidating and binding communities while enhancing the spiritual and cultural life of the people. Therefore, over time, government levels and sectors, particularly the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, have actively and proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue numerous schemes and action programs to spread traditional cultural art forms throughout the community, such as: the Plan for protecting the intangible cultural heritage of Ca trù and Trống quân singing for the period 2014-2020; preparing dossiers for conferring titles of 'People's Artisan,' 'Distinguished Artisan,' 'People's Artist,' and 'Distinguished Artist,' and submitting documentation to competent authorities for recognition of various forms of intangible cultural heritage; plans for inventorying intangible cultural heritage throughout the province; directing provincial art units and local cultural and artistic clubs to organize collection, research, and staging of numerous artistic programs and performances to participate in performance activities, exchanges, competitions, festivals, and theatrical gatherings. Through this, the province creates 'venues' and 'performance spaces' for heritage custodians, artisans, artists, and clubs to have opportunities to practice and perform traditional art forms, integrating traditional arts into tourism service activities to serve visitors, contributing to raising awareness of preserving and promoting the beautiful traditional cultural heritage values of the nation in general and Hung Yen in particular, especially cultural heritage at risk of disappearing."
