Trade mark of turmeric of Chi Tan commune, Khoai Chau province is protected

The project of “Building, managing and developing the recognition of Chi Tan turmeric as the turmeric product of Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen province” has been carried out since the beginning of 2017. Its goals include: To form trademark recognition of Chi Tan turmeric as the turmeric product of Khoai Chau district; to implement the regulations on management of Chi Tan turmeric trademark recognition; to develop the consumption market for Chi Tan turmeric and increase the capacity of manufacturers and vendors. On March 29, 2018, the National office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam issued the Decision ref 20443/QĐ-SHTT on the issuance of certificate of trademark recognition of Chi Tan turmeric as the turmeric product of Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen province. The turmeric of Khoai Chau district is grown in 7 communes, namely Chi Tan, Dai Hung, Thuan Hung, Nhue Duong, Thanh Cong, Dai Tap, Lien Khe, presented by the People’s Committee of Khoai Chau district.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang, Deputy Chairman of the provincial people’s committee requested Khoai Chau district to accelerate the dissemination of turmeric products; to give facilities for households to swift the land of non-productive trees to turmeric; to implement methods to manage the trademark; to set up the model of collectives and cooperatives manufacturing turmeric in order to boost the cooperation of production and consumption.
At the seminar, the People’s Committee of Khoai Chau district presented the certificate of the right to use “Chi Tan tumeric – Khoai Chau” trademark to 25 collectives and individuals in 7 communes of the district.
